Learn To Fly: A Beginner’s Arm Balance Workshop

Saturday, June 29 at Leland 12-1:30pm

Join Michigan Instructor, Sarah Aalderink ERYT 500 for an intentional vinyasa practice focused on building strength and finding balance, as well as an arm balance pose breakdown – including the use of props, modifications, and ways of incorporating arm balances into your practice. We will explore the foundations, learn how these poses can work for you, and take away the tricks needed to set flight.

In this workshop we will break down and practice five arm balances:

Crow (Bakasana)

Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana)

Flying Splits (Eka Pada Koundinyasana ll)

Flying Lizard  (Uddayana Uttana Pristhasana)

Eight Angle (Astavakrasana)

Inversions Workshop

Saturday, July 13 at Leland 12-2pm

When we go upside down in our yoga practice it can have an energizing or a relaxing effect on the body depending on the type of inversion we choose to practice. Inversions challenge and humble us as well as create a tremendous amount of core and upper body strength. Join Cashel and Bianca as we explore how to safely turn our worlds upside down. We will cover multiple approaches to headstand, handstand and  forearm stand with a brief intro to chinstand then explore the cooling effects of legs up the wall and shoulderstand.
