Partner Yoga Workshop
Saturday, Feb 11 at 3pm – Knapp’s Corner
Partner yoga gives us the opportunity to engage in this traditionally individual practice with our companions. With guidance from Cashel and Krista, you will work together by way of movement, breath and communication to truly examine what it means to be a partner in a relationship. In this workshop, you will use each other’s support to ensure proper alignment, balance and focus in each pose. This support will not only contribute to your physical stability, but hopefully your mental capacity to trust one another. Cost is $25 per person. Annual members receive 20% off. “The Twisted” Members receive 15% off. Monthly Members receive 10% off. Discount automatic at checkout.
Core & Bandhas Workshop
Saturday, Feb 18 at 12:30pm – Caledonia
This workshop will help you fire up your core physically and energetically. When we work to bring strength and flexibility into our center we create a stronger and safer yoga practice and we bring more stability into our life off the mat as well. A strong core helps us to realize how capable and strong we are in life as well as in our yoga practice. This class will include plenty of core work as well as twists and back bends to create a healthy balance of suppleness and strength in the body. We will cover using the core to float forward and backward during sun salutations as well as how core strength helps us in intermediate to advanced yoga postures. Expect to be challenged physically in a playful environment. What to bring: a pair of socks, a towel and a playful spirit. This workshop is led by Jamie Marion, E-RYT200 YACEP. RYT’s receive continuing education hours for this workshop. Cost is $25. Monthly Members receive 10% off. VIP Members receive 20% off.
Tibetan Sound Healing
Sunday, Feb 19 at 8pm – Caledonia
Saturday, March 18 at 12pm – Grandville
Join Kevin Leep for an experience in sound. Tibetan Sound Healing is an expression of sacred sound, which is constructed of sound frequencies, harmonics, and overtones. Sound healing uses patterns of sound to realign our energy to its true nature. By simply relaxing and allowing the sound to wash through us, bathing us in healthful frequencies, we have the capability to “realign” on cellular levels. This positive realignment may then manifest through us in all dimensions — physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. The Earth Gong and Tibetan Singing Bowls, along with many other analog sound tools, are incredibly efficient at re-patterning us this way. Students typically lay comfortably on the floor in savasana, but a favorite meditation seat or gentle yoga poses are welcomed. Cost is $30. Annual members receive 20% off. “The Twisted” Members receive 15% off. Monthly Members receive 10% off.
Students are encouraged to:
Wear comfortable clothing
Bring yoga props (bolsters/blankets/towels) anything for comfort and support
Avoid eating a heavy meal ~2 hrs prior
Be well hydrated
Arm Balance Workshop
Saturday, Mar 11 at 12:30pm – Caledonia
This workshop will introduce students to the world of arm balances. We discuss the mechanics of crow pose and use that as a base to explore a few other arm balances as time permits (hurdler’s pose, side crow, firefly, etc). We will also explore the postures that can be used to build the strength and stamina needed to feel safe and stable in arm balances. More than any other posture, arm balances can remind us that yoga poses are not the most important part of a yoga practice, they are just one tool we can use to learn more about ourselves. It’s truly all about the journey. This workshop is led by Jamie Marion, E-RYT200 YACEP. RYT’s receive continuing education hours for this workshop. Cost is $25 per person. Annual members receive 20% off. “The Twisted” Members receive 15% off. Monthly Members receive 10% off.
