9 years ago this month we opened the Caledonia studio. With great sadness, we are letting you know that we have decided not to continue our lease and our last class at the Caledonia studio will be 930am Heat on Thursday Oct 1 and will be taught by Twisted founder & owner, Ginya. We want you to know that our Knapps Corner and Grandville locations are thriving and aren’t going anywhere. We will be adding more classes to both locations in October to accommodate you and our teaching team (more details below) and while we shifted some schedules around, we will be retaining 100% of our team! 🫶
Caledonia was our second location and opened in September 2017. Things were going so well that we opened a 3rd location in Grandville two years later. After opening Grandville, we noticed that we lost a lot of Caledonia members to the new studio. With the studios being only 15 minutes apart, a lot of people lived in between studios or closer to Grandville. We figured things would bounce back but six months after Grandville opened, the pandemic shutdowns began. Gyms and fitness studios specifically were physically closed for eight months with an additional seven months of restrictions around masks and social distancing. Around that time, our original lease was ending and we weren’t sure if we would renew the lease or not. It was our biggest space and our smallest community. Our landlords came to us with an opportunity to move a couple doors down into a smaller space so that Pet Supplies Plus could combine our space with a neighboring space that had just become vacant. It felt like it was meant to be! But things never truly bounced back after Covid like they did at the other studios. If you’ve practiced at Caledonia, you most likely noticed the smaller schedule and smaller class sizes. We’ve been fighting an uphill battle for the last five years and we are now coming to the sad realization that the Caledonia studio is just not sustainable.
So what does this mean for your membership? Twisted memberships and class packs can all be used at all locations and we hope you will continue to practice with us in Grandville and/or Knapps Corner. If you only practice at Caledonia because of the location and you cannot practice at other locations, contact us HERE about canceling your membership. We promise to take care of you!
